Therapy for High-Achieving Individuals Navigating Trauma

Evidence-based online trauma therapy for individuals whose exhaustion isn’t just tiredness and workload

Specialising in EMDR, CBT and somatic-informed approaches.

Helping you break vicious cycles and heal from trauma

If burnout keeps coming back no matter how much you rest, the real issue might not be workload - it might be unresolved trauma. This can show up as exhaustion and a quiet sense of not quite belonging in your own life.

On the surface it doesn't look like trauma. It looks like being tired, being busy, being fine.

When you're the one who holds it all together, disconnection can creep in even when things are genuinely good. And sometimes you can’t even pinpoint why.

Sawya Mind and Body provides a therapeutic space to help you work through the things that are keeping you stuck to help you build understanding, confidence and a sense of calm.

Sound Familiar?

Overwhelmed

People-pleasing

Successful on paper, yet feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water

Exhausted and always saying yes when you actually mean no

Disconnected

Unfulfilled

Peacekeeper

You hate conflict and try to avoid it wherever and whenever possible

Guilty for not feeling happier - because your life is so good, so why isn’t it enough?

Separated from your body, friendships or relationships and from yourself

Perfectionist

Lost

You hold high standards for yourself, and are critical of your mistakes

Quietly unsure where you fit into the world, even when things look right from the outside

Therapy is built around you - not a protocol

Individual Psychological Therapy

I work with inidividuals who are exhausted from holding it all together and are ready to understand what is really going on beneath the surface.

Drawing on CBT, EMDR, compassion focused and somatic based approaches, we’ll work together to process what needs processing and help you reconnect with you who are beyond the overwhelm and expectations from others.

Support for Childfree Living

Living childfree can feel invisible. There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that builds beneath a life you’ve consciously and intentionally chosen. One that’s rarely named, and even more rarely understood. When the world around you seems to be living a completely different chapter, disconnection can creep in eve when life is genuinely good. That tension is real and it deserves proper space.

Dealing with Burnout and Overwhelm

Sawya was created for people who don’t quite fit the mould. Those who are quietly wondering why life feels harder than it looks - not because anything is wrong with their choices, but because the world rarely reflects them back.

If you’re navigating burnout, overwhelm or a deep sense of disconnection, Sawya might be the right space for you.

Sawya comes from the Cornish word meaning ‘to heal’ - wild, grounded, quietly resilient.

Hi, I’m Jo

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR therapist, clinical supervisor and the founder of Sawya Mind and Body.

I founded Sawya Mind and Body because I believe there is a particular kind of exhaustion that high-achieving individuals carry - one that is rarely talked about and even more rarely understood.

I know that experience intimately, that’s why I do this work!

How I can help

Sawya provides a space for individuals whose experience has been talked over, questioned and minimised for too long

My clinical focus is trauma, burnout, and stress - and I’m especially drawn to the mind-body connection, exploring psychosomatics alongside talk-based approaches. I’m trained in CBT, EMDR, CPT, ACT, and compassion focused therapy.
